Tom Murphy in 1998Tom came on board from WLCY-FM in Tampa, Florida. His first commercial radio job was at KKLS in Rapid City, South Dakota. In 1974, he moved to Jacksonville, Florida for Afternoon Drive on the legendary WAPE. Then it was WLCY in St. Petersburg (Tampa), where he did Morning Drive.

He spun records at WRKO beginning September 22, 1978, and left for WVBF (105.7) in Framingham, Massachusetts on March 31, 1980. From there, it was a News Director position with the CBS Radio Division of Boston.

Tom was on the air on WKQL, "Cool 96.9," in Jacksonville, Florida, until the station changed format. You can now hear his voice on various Radio stations in the Jacksonville area, doing traffic reports for Metro Networks.
