Split personalities? Not really.... they're one and the same. Like Bobby Mitchell who once left WRKO and returned later as Frank Kingston Smith (his real name), Bambi (her real name) did the same.

After J. J. Jordan hired her (for overnights), she first modulated WRKO's carrier as Melody from April, 1976 to March 10, 1978. When she returned to the air on March 31, 1980, she did so as Bambi.

Here's how Bambi tells it...

"Melody McShane was used when I first came to WRKO. J. J. Jordan, had that name prepared for me to use when I came from St. Louis. For the majority of my career, I used Bambi Salzberg, from my first radio position at the campus radio station at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, then WCHL-AM, Chapel Hill, WDNC-AM-FM, Durham, NC, at (what was then) KSLQ-FM in St. Louis, then to WRKO as Melody, then back to Bambi at WRKO. I also worked as Bambi Salzberg at WHDH-AM Boston."

"I'm married now, and worked at WCVE-TV, Richmond, and most recently as "B" Jones at all news 990, WVNZ-AM, Richmond. Thus ends the saga!"
